Born in Berlin in 1951, Klaus Hoffmann has lived there since. Around the year 1968 he began to write his first songs, which he performed in local clubs. Encouraged by colleagues and friends from the theater he started drama school in 1970 at the Max-Reinhardt-Schule in Berlin. In 1974 he made his debut at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin as Alan in EQUUS staged by Kurt Hübner, followed in 1975 by his appearance as Romeo in Kurt Hübner´s production of ROMEO AND JULIET, as Darkie in THE FOOL (Bond) in 1977/78 at the Thalia-Theater Hamburg, and as Ferdinand in INTRIGUE AND LOVE.Klaus Hoffmann´s shot his first TV-movie in 1974. Other film and TV appearances followed. In 1976 he played Clemens in DIE FASTNACHTSBEICHTE directed by Eberhard Itzenplitz. He was granted the " Goldene Kamera" award in 1976 for the role of Edgar Wibeau in DIE NEUEN LEIDEN DES JUNGEN W/THE NEW SORROWS OF YOUNG W. He appeared in THE SERPENT´S EGG by Ingmar Bergmann and in THE LADY OF THE KAMELLIAS/LA DAME AUX CAMÉLIAS by Tom Toelle in 1977.
Klaus Hoffmann's first record was presented in 1975. More than thirty LP's und CD's followed. He toured all of Europe as a singer and entertainer. He presented a diversity of different TV-shows and concert evenings. One of these he was awarded with the " Goldene Europa" as "Stage-Event of the Year" : his overwhelming presentation of BREL - DIE LETZTE VORSTELLUNG at the Schillertheater Berlin.
